Dr. Amy G. Oden is Professor of Early Church History and Spirituality at Saint Paul School of Theology at Oklahoma City University. Prior to that she served as Dean and Professor of History of Christianity at Wesley Theological Seminary. Her Ph.D. in Religious Studies is from Southern Methodist University. Dr. Oden’s areas of special interest and publication include early Christianity, hospitality, and women’s contributions to church history. Her books include Right Here Right Now: The Practice of Christian Mindfulness (Abingdon, 2017), God’s Welcome: Hospitality for a Gospel-Hungry World (Pilgrim Press, 2008), and In Her Words: Women’s Writings in the History of Christian Thought (Abingdon, 1994).
Audience
This is a mid-level course for both women and men who want to grow in faith and see how God works in difficult times and places. Each session requires a few pages of reading.
